Bangkok Guide

Bangkok is a city that truly has something for everyone; a vibrant energy coursing through the streets that can provide excitement and intrigue at every corner.  Edging the River of Kings, Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort is just moments away from some of the capital’s most iconic riverside attractions, including the Grand Palace, Temple of Dawn and age old life of the canal maze.  The resort’s complimentary shuttle boat service transports guests to the Asiatique lifestyle complex located opposite, and also to Saphan Taksin sky train station which connects to the whole city, meaning that wider cultural highlights, as well as cosmopolitan shopping, dining and entertainment areas, are all within easy reach.

Offering the perfect blend of waterfront serenity that seems a world away from the bustling urban pace, and convenient access to all of Bangkok’s colourful contrasts, our tropical hideaway tempts international travellers to spend more time exploring this fascinating city.

Bangkok city attractions

Grand Palace:
Bangkok’s most famed attraction, built by King Rama I in 1782, is a magnificent visual spectacle of royal Thai culture, encompassing temples, murals and statues that are all lavishly decorated. Only a few minutes boat ride away, Anantara Riverside Bangkok is one of the most conveniently located hotels for guests who want to visit this beautiful palace.
Jim Thompson House: A monument to the Thai silk trade, Jim Thompson House was the personal residence of ex-CIA operative turned silk exporter Jim Thompson. He had the numerous buildings of the residence transported from Ayutthaya and reconstructed in the heart of the city, and they now serve as a museum and restaurant. To visit Jim Thompson House, simply hop on our shuttle boat and catch the sky train from Saphan Taksin BTS station.
Siam Square: The city’s hub for both local and international shopping, the area around Siam Square is home to Bangkok’s largest shopping malls, selling everything from extreme luxury to high street brands. Siam Square itself is characterised by local designer boutiques, and has a more charming and quirky vibe.  All of Bangkok’s shopping highlights can be easily reached from our resort, by taking our complimentary shuttle boat and then the sky train.
Wat Arun: Also known as the ‘Temple of Dawn’, Wat Arun is one of Southeast Asia’s most recognisable monuments thanks to its ornate carvings and floral pattern spiralling into the sky. Constructed in the first half of the 19th century by King Rama II, it sits on the bank of the Chao Phraya River, just a short boat ride away from Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort.
